How ReciproCoach Mentoring works
ReciproCoach mentoring, unlike traditional mentoring relationships, are based on a collaborative relationship, rather than one of expert-novice. By joining a round of mentoring that matches your particular experience level, you will be matched with a coach of similar experience, who can offer you
a different perspective on your coaching. This
different perspective can come from their coach training, professional background or unique area of expertise, which, depending on the preferences you submit to the match-maker, are purposefully different to your own. Your mentors are therefore "more expert than you" in
their particular style of coaching, not necessarily more expert than you in coaching
per se.
When you join a round of mentoring, you agree to giving and receiving 3 hours of mentoring, making a total commitment of 6 hours. Following is how you fulfil the 6 hours over a period of approximately 45 days:
As a mentee:
Hour 1: Your mentor listens to you coach a client or a recording of you coaching a client
for up to an hour.
Hour 2: Your mentor provides you with written feedback on your coaching.
Hour 3: You engage in a coaching call with your mentor to discuss/work on/be coached on the feedback.
As a mentor:
Hour 1: You listen to your mentee coach a client or a recording of their coaching a client
for up to an hour.
Hour 2: You provide your mentee with written feedback on their coaching.
Hour 3: You engage in a coaching call with your mentee to discuss/work on/coach him/her on the feedback.
The above method is obsersvation-based mentoring. Alternatively, you may choose to spend your three hours with your mentor to receive question-and-answer-based mentoring or coaching-based mentoring. The mentee chooses the way in which the three mentoring hours are spent.

With this reciprocal mentoring system, ReciproCoaches report getting as much out of mentoring another coach as they do from being mentored themselves! Plus, if you like your mentor or mentee so much that you'd like to continue with them, you can register for the next appropriate round together and have ongoing mentoring with the same person for as long as you are both benefitting from it!
