What do coaches say about their mentors?
ReciproCoaches are among the most well developed coaches in the world. Here's what just a few have said about their mentors so far.
My mentor was very structured and we went through the coaching session one step at a time in a very constructive way. She confirmed what I already felt I had to work on. This is a great opportunity/tool.
Sarah was very honest. She was not afraid to tell me what I was doing and what I wasn't doing. She also demonstrated the feedback that she gave. She told me to focus on questioning about the benefits and as soon as we got into the third part of the mentoring process (i.e. where she coached me on my coaching), she brought home what she was talking about by questioning me about the benefits of meditating before sessions, an insight that I had as a result of her mentor coaching.
The mentor's candid feedback and honesty really helped. The mentor was able to figure out that I am a CTI trained coach by keenly observing my listening skills.
Flo's feedback was very specific and comprehensive. She told me where the client had said something at the beginning of the conversation but where I only "got it" about twenty minutes later.
Dianne and I have similar experience, but Dianee comes from a more feeling approach to coaching, whereas I have a tendency to be systematic. Thanks to Dianne's mentoring, I am now tuning in to my clients to a far greater degree.
