Scheduling across timezones?

Scheduling across timezones is part and parcel of most coaches’ participation in the ReciproCoach community. Most coaches handle it well using our preferred time converter, but even the best of us can get caught out when daylight savings time begins and ends in different parts of the world.

On our new international scheduling resource page, we have provided three options for accurately scheduling appointments across timezones including two website links, as well as video tutorials for using the timezone features of iCal or Google Calendar.

If you find these resources useful, we encourage you to subscribe to the ReciproCoach youtube channel. In addition to the professional development videos we provide, we will continue to share tutorials that will help coaches make the most of the newest technology to manage their businesses better.

What are some negative effects of being a coach?

A significant portion of the coaching research to date has been dedicated to the study of the positive impact of coaching. Decidedly less research has focused on the negative impact of coaching (understandably, that wouldn’t be good for business) and, to my knowledge, there is only one study of negative impacts of being a coach.

This month's issue of Coaching Research in Practice highlights just that – the negative impact of being a coach. It provides an overview of the frequency and intensity of the negative impact coaches experience as a result of their work and it identifies those issues that coaches find burdensome. Finally, it makes some suggestions for how to avoid and alleviate any burdens that arise.

Professional and personal development for coaches

ReciproCoach provides a platform for coaches around the world to engage in reciprocal peer coaching (also known as co-coaching), mentoring and supervision. Our program utilises the power of experiential and social learning to deliver deep, meaningful and long-lasting professional and personal development.

ReciproCoach lives and breathes Friere's philosophy that those who teach learn in the act of teaching, and those who learn, teach in the act of learning. ReciproCoaches enrich their professional practice not only by being coached, mentored and supervised, but also and perhaps even more so, by coaching, mentoring and supervising other coaches in our community.

ReciproCoach is a community of professional practice that taps into the collaborative potential of the coaching world to ensure that every coach has access to coaching, mentoring and supervision, the three cornerstones of professional practice.
