Introduction to Deborah Lightwood

My direct involvement in coaching entrepreneurs and Top Teams began in 1998, building an ongoing passion for supporting others as they work through their development challenges. I believe that it is through the subtleties of building awareness, clarity and commitment to change, alongside providing encouragement to build the courage to put ideas into practice, that coaches really add value. I am an Executive & Corporate Coach with a drive for developing people towards measurable performance goals. I use assessment tools such as HBDI and MBTI to help my clients become acquainted with their strengths and challenges in a non-threatening way, and by providing a proven structure and safe environment for coaching they learn to challenge themselves and achieve more than they believed possible. We all have the power to define ourselves and our own development!

What does "Approved" mean?

Close

An "Approved Coach" is someone who has completed a requisite number of hours specifically in coaching training with a verified coach training provider. An "Approved Student" is someone who has completed some specific coach training, but has not yet completed the requisite number of hours.

Coach training is verified by ReciproCoach, an international community of coaches who coach coaches. A coach's membership to this community, especially if they have recent feedback displayed below their profile, is the ultimate guarantee of the competency of a coach. Not only does it demonstrate their ability to coach another coach, but it is also a testament to their professional credibility as a coach who regularly engages in the process of being coached, thereby advancing their own personal and professional development.

Note: Coach training is different to training in any other helping service, including counselling, consultancy and training and development. All "Approved Coaches" and "Approved Students" have be trained to facilitate coaching as a process in its own right. Coaching can be defined as, "a goal-directed, multi-faceted process for enhancing people, work and life" (Griffiths, 2008).
